GITEGA January 31st (ABP) – The ruling CNDD-FDD party proceeded, Saturday January 27, 2024, to the closing of the three-day interfaith prayer of thanksgiving that it had organized at the Gitega aerodrome (central Burundi) to give thanks to God for the benefits He has offered to the Bagumyabanga and to entrust him with the year 2024, a check on the site by ABP has revealed.

Present in those ceremonies were the presidential couple, the Secretary General of the CNDD-FDD, the presidents of the National Assembly and the Senate, the Burundian Prime Minister, certain ministers, senators and deputies, executives and senior executives of the country as well as members of religious faiths.

In his advice, the Secretary General of the CNDD-FDD party, Mr. Réverien Ndikuriyo, declared that it is first necessary to preserve peace and security to achieve the 2040-2060 vision. He indicated that all the teachings given in that prayer will be condensed into a collection to be taught to all citizens.

Mr. Ndikuriyo urged leaders unable to work at the pace of others to develop the country to resign from their positions. He also advised economic operators to set sustainable development objectives. He also advocated the return of students to boarding school so that they learn to live together and consolidate unity among young people.

Reminding leaders that Gitega is the political capital of the country, the Secretary General of the CNDD-FDD party recommended that the institutions and ministries concerned move to Gitega because, he considered, there is no reason to stay in Bujumbura.

On the sidelines of the closing of that prayer, the President of the Republic of Burundi asked leaders to take the lead in implementing the 2040-2060 vision. He finally prayed for the CNDD-FDD party so that it continues to enlighten and develop Burundi.

Note that the Bagumyabanga contributed an amount of 402,343,175 BIF for the construction of the altar of God known in Kirundi as “Igicaniro c’isezerano”, including 134,915,550 BIF collected during that prayer and a sum of 267,427,625 BIF gathered in all areas of the country on the occasion of prayer organized every last Thursday of the month.
