Young people affiliated to political parties and religious denominations are called upon to cooperate effectively

RUTANA, May 17th (ABP) – Young people affiliated to the various political parties and religious denominations in the Musongati commune of the Rutana province (south-east Burundi) are called upon to live in harmony in their neighborhoods and continue to work on development together.

This appeal was made on Saturday May 11 by the commune’s administrator, Ms Claudine Niyoyitungira, after a friendly soccer match between young people affiliated to different political parties and those of religious denominations, organized by the Burundi Interfaith Council in the Musongati commune, we learnt.

In her speech, Mrs. Niyoyitungira expressed her satisfaction at the good collaboration between young people affiliated to the various political parties and religious denominations in this event. She called on them always to live in harmony and help each other. She also invited them to take part in community development work.

At a time when Burundi is entering an electoral period, Mrs. Niyoyitungira called on the people affiliated to different political parties and religious denominations to reach an understanding and compete in ideas for the commune’s development.

 

The representatives of the political parties operating in this commune who spoke welcomed this initiative by the Interfaith Council and called on the young people belonging to their respective parties to cooperate with those of other political parties.
