Any household is required to have at least five rabbits since next January

KAYANZA December 19^th (ABP) – The governor of Kayanza (north), Mr. Rémy Cishahayo, invites his constituents to get excited about rabbit farming so that each household has at least 5 rabbits. According to him, a household which will not have 5 rabbits since next January will be qualified as recalcitrant. Thus, he urges the village and unit leaders to sensitize their constituents and verify as of next January that this measure has been implemented. The provincial authority in Kayanza reports that rabbit farming is easily practicable, especially since livestock requires few means. No one will ever complain that rabbits have destroyed their fields, he said, adding that this type of livestock will allow the people of Burundi and the whole nation to develop.
