GITEGA, June 7th (ABP) – The President of the upper house of parliament, Mr Emmanuel Sinzohagera, was granted an audience on Tuesday 4 June in Gitega (central Burundi) with the vice-president of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (APCAE), Mr Jiāng Jiāng, who was accompanied by members of the China Alumni Burundian Association for Sustainable Cooperation (CABASCO), a check on the site by ABP has revealed.
The spokesman for the President of the Senate, Ladislas Niyiragira, said that the mission had been organised as part of a drive to strengthen relations of friendship and cooperation between China and Burundi. He also pointed out that the President of the Senate greatly appreciated that visit by the Vice-President of APCAE because, he stressed, it was an opportunity to see together the security situation prevailing in Burundi, contrary to the information circulating on social networks.
Referring to the forthcoming delimitation of Burundi, the President of the Senate has invited that association to play a leading role in establishing relations of friendship and cooperation between the provinces of Burundi and those of China, according to the spokesman for the President of the Senate.
