Election of the new chairperson of the National Media Council

BUJUMBURA, July 5th (ABP) – The members of the National Media Council (CNC) elected a new president on Thursday 4 July.

Ambassador Espérance Ndayizeye, who was elected with 100% of the votes to replace Ambassador Vestine Nahimana, thanked them for the confidence placed in her and promised to work with them and the heads of the press in the proper management of the profession in order to continue promoting press freedom. She promised to support media professionals and called on them to work within the law so that together they can contribute to achieving the vision of Burundi as an emerging country in 2040 and a developed country in 2060.
