CIBITOKE, January 5th (ABP) – The start of the school year for the second term 2023-2024, which took place on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, began with a meeting of parents, in order to enlighten them on school life and the level of student learning.

During the meeting, the director of the school, Dunia Minani, reported that his school only succeeded at a 47.68% rate in the first term, and that in class 7 the success rate was only 17.39% in network exams, with more cases of failure in education.

He called on parents to contribute to the supervision of their children, at home and at school, to increase the success rate. He also pleaded with parents to support the school in its project to build two classrooms and a laboratory. He said that the refectory is used as a classroom for learning and changes layout during student lunches.

As for the students in the science sections, the director indicated that they need a laboratory to access practical work.

For the director of the boarding school, Augustin Bagirumwaka, he called on parents to carefully follow the progress of their children in the lessons, not to mention their upbringing because the school regulations do not authorize class advancement with a failure in education.

He deplored that there are grade 7 students who are already expelled from school, because they have below zero marks in education.

The parents in turn congratulated the 4th year students in the pedagogical section, who all passed at 100%, and asked that others follow suit. They invited the director of the institution to increase class visits, especially where they had a very low success rate. Note that the last meeting with parents has taken place, three years ago.
