CANKUZO March 7th (ABP) – The MPs and senators elected in Cankuzo province (eastern Burundi) are delighted that the population is gradually understanding the advantage of using organo-mineral fertilizer. They said this Thursday, March 3, 2022, during climbing bean sowing activities in their own modern field in Gatungurwe village in Cankuzo commune, a check on the site by ABP has revealed.
In an interview granted to the check by ABP, the Honorable Salvator Bigirimana indicated that they came together to cultivate beans and maize in order to respond to the appeal of the Head of State and to serve as an example to the population, in the promotion of modern culture since this year has been baptized agricultural year.
Regarding the expected corn harvest in Cankuzo province, Mr. Bigirimana hopes that this crop will give a good yield, noting that the population has begun to understand the advantage of using organo-mineral fertilizer.
For those who do not use this fertilizer, he called on them to join others in not falling behind in development.
He took the opportunity to challenge the population to respond to the state program to fertilize the land by mixing organo-mineral fertilizer and manure.
He did not forget to call on farmers to put their fields together and cultivate in groups for the increase in the harvest but also for the exchange of experience.
