KIRUNDO March 16th (ABP) – The administration of Gitobe commune in Kirundo province (northern Burundi) proceeded on Saturday March 12, 2022 on Shore village, to harvest corn in the communal model field of about 5 hectares, a check on the site by ABP has revealed.

The administrator of the Gitobe commune, Mrs. Georgine Dusabe had the opportunity to urge the people of that commune to no longer fold their arms, rather to work courageously especially in the intensification of agriculture in order to increase production. She recalled that this year is dedicated to agriculture as the Head of State wished. She thus invited the population of Gitobe to implement the wish of the President of the Republic to face poverty, without forgetting to group together in cooperatives and to continue to protect the environment and the watersheds.

Mrs. Dusabe did not forget to wink that livestock is also important, especially for farmers who always need organic manure. Administrator Dusabe indicated that this maize production is estimated at more than 5 tons.
