KAYANZA February 14th (ABP) – The governor of Kayanza province (northern Burundi), Colonel Rémy Cishahayo, continued Thursday, February 10, his visits to Kayanza commune, as part of collecting the grievances of the population. In his opening speech, the administrator of Kayanza commune, Gilbert Nyandwi, pointed out that the commune is doing well in many sectors but that security is often disrupted by cases of theft, drunkenness, concubinage, accusations related to witchcraft, and many other disturbing elements of security.
In turn, the governor of Kayanza province, Colonel Rémy Cishahayo, warned the owners of infrastructure built in green spaces while asking them to destroy them themselves so as not to be fined. To strengthen security in the urban center of Kayanza, the same authority recommended that residents put public lighting on all the fences of their houses. At the same time, the provincial governor castigated the attitude of certain residents who are acting in bad faith, who take advantage of the darkness to steal REGIDESO’s electric wires and to ask the communal administration of Kayanza to ensure that all those who commit such crimes are brought to justice.
