The Burundian ombudsman calls on the inhabitants of Kayanza to support the actions of the TRC

KAYANZA July 26th (ABP) – Burundi Ombudsman Edouard Nduwimana joined the people of Muruta commune on Thursday, July 22, 2021 in community works consisting of the collection of bricks for the construction of two classrooms in extension of Nyakibari basic school.

In his speech, the Burundian ombudsman asked the inhabitants of the said commune to work in cooperatives and in quadrilogy, to protect the environment, to fight against Covid-19, to be united in their diversity and to support the actions of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) to forgiveness and effective reconciliation. Accompanied by his family, the provincial governor and the administrator of Muruta, the Burundian ombudsman provided food assistance consisting of rice, beans and maize flour that he distributed to poor families including those of the Batwa community from Nyakibari village. In order to support the extension works of Nyakibari basic school, the Burundian ombudsman has promised iron sheets at the appropriate time. On the sidelines of those works, he visited the three-storey building under construction that will house the Kayanza provincial office.
