MAKAMBA October 27th (ABP) – The Makamba commune offered, on Wednesday October 25, rice and beans as seeds to 10 family’s victims of bad weather caused by the rain mixed with winds which fell on the commune and the province Makamba on Sunday the 15th, a check on the site by ABP has revealed.

The communal administration of Makamba, led by Mrs. Zuena Irakiza, wanted to join forces with those families who saw their houses disheveled to show solidarity with its citizens who have until now been hosted by their neighbors. Ms. Irakiza further indicated that in its budget program, the communality plans to build 12 houses for the vulnerable during the 2023-2024 budget year. “On that occasion the communality is offering metal sheets to six poorest families to begin with,” she said, adding that each family receives 15 sheets of metal.

The communal administration also made available to the population of the Nyaruremba sub-village of Makamba II village a fountain which was non-functional four years ago.

The governor’s advisor in charge of development, Pius Nimbona, thanked the Makamba commune which included in its program the granting of metal sheets to the most deprived people asking the people to plant trees to reduce the damage that could be caused by possible bad weather. Concerning the management of the fountain, he asked the population to set up a management committee for that fountain to prevent it from remaining non-functional. Note that the Makamba commune also purchased sheet metal which will cover four classrooms at Kirare and Murambi Basic schools.
