DAR ES SALAAM July 4th (XINHUA) – – Tanzanian meteorological authorities issued an alert on Sunday, warning of the imminent arrival of strong winds and large ocean waves along the Indian Ocean coasts.
According to a brief statement from the Tanzania Meteorological Authority (TMA) titled “Forecast based on five-day severe weather impact”, strong winds reaching 40 km/h and large ocean waves reaching two meters high are expected in some areas along the Indian Ocean coasts.
The statement also refers to the areas affected by strong winds and large ocean waves as Lindi, Mtwara, Tanga, Dar es Salaam and coastal regions, as well as the islands of Unguja and Pemba in Zanzibar, at the same time highlighting guard against impacts, in particular the disruption of certain marine activities.
