KAYANZA June 23rd (ABP) – The administration of Butaganzwa commune, in Kayanza province (north), is satisfied with the contribution of associations and cooperatives both in job creation and in development work. The administrator of Butaganzwa, Mrs. Janvière Kanyana, said that associations and cooperatives are involved in increasing production. She asks those who have not yet joined associations and cooperatives to change their mentalities so as not to remain behind in development.

As for the representatives of associations and cooperatives, they testify that they responded to the appeal of the Head of State, who calls on Burundians to come together to set up strong projects. By way of illustration, a certain Thacien Nduwimana alias Jimmy, representative of the farming cooperative of Busokoza, who proceeded on Wednesday to the potato harvest, underlines that they face the lack of means to make their dreams come true. That is the same story for the communal representative of the cooperative for the integrated development of people (CODIP) in Butaganzwa, Mr. Donatien Bukuru. He says they have cooperatives in all 20 villages of the said commune.

They ask the Burundian government to intervene, so that they too benefit from interest-free loans, like the village cooperatives called “Sangwe”.
