Jun 13, 2023

KIRUNDO June 13th (ABP) – The Vice President of the Republic, Mr. Prosper Bazombanza, joined the people on Saturday, June 10, 2023, in Mbasi village of Vumbi commune in Kirundo province (north of Burundi), in community development work consisting of cleaning the gutters of National Road 14, a check on the site by ABP has revealed.

In his speech, Mr. Bazombanza asked the people of that province to ensure the maintenance of public infrastructure. He specified that the roads contribute to the development of the country by facilitating the traffic of goods and people. He urged farmers not to waste the harvest, rather to store it in sheds built in different corners of the province. He did not fail to ask the administrative officials to discourage the behavior of the sale of harvest in fields, which leads to poverty in households.

With regard to education, the Vice President of the Republic recommended that the administrative authorities, especially the village leaders, ensure that all children of school age are enrolled in school, and those who are on the school bench, to continue their studies and obtain their diplomas.

As for the chief of staff in the office of the governor, Mr. Eric Nduwayezu, he indicated that the people of Kirundo go about their activities normally because, he specified, peace reigns throughout the province. He indicated that the harvest is satisfactory for cropping season B, and that the people are preparing for season C, of which more than 3000 hectares are planned to be harnessed.
