BUJUMBURA June 13th (ABP) – The President of the Republic, Evariste Ndayishimiye, received, in audience, Friday June 10, 2022, at his residence, Sergio Pimenta, Vice-President of International Finance Corporation (IFC) in Africa. It is an international financial company, a group of the World Bank which invests in development projects.
During this audience, the two personalities discussed the development project of Burundi. According to Mr. Pimenta, this institution (IFC) supports the development of the private sector. This visit thus allowed the vice-president of IFC to realize the opportunities for the development of companies in Burundi.
Mr. Pimenta said that at the end of this audience, he noticed that Burundi presents many opportunities and that with his colleagues, they will work on Burundi as well as the World Bank.
According to him, the agricultural and tourism sectors will benefit from the support of this company which will offer “financing products and advisory products”.
During the audience, the Vice-President of the IFC was accompanied by the Resident Representative of the World Bank in Burundi, Véronique Kabongo.
