KAYANZA March 28th (ABP) – The Burundian ombudsman, Mr. Edouard Nduwimana, accompanied by his wife who is also president of the communal council of Gahombo, joined on Thursday March 24, 2022 the women of Gahombo commune in Kayanza province (north) in the celebration ceremonies of the day dedicated to them commonly celebrated on March 8 of each year.
The ceremonies relating to this day took place at the Rukago football field located on Gakuro village, a check on the site by ABP has revealed.
In their speeches, Mrs. Juliette Nkurunziza and Sylvestre Ntunzwenayo, respectively communal president of the women’s forum and administrator of Gahombo commune, all confirmed that women in this commune are represented at a satisfactory level in different sectors of life in that commune.
By way of illustration, they pointed out that three of the four health centers in this commune are run by women. That said, the two officials in Gahombo commune deplored the behavior of some women who cohabit and took the opportunity to challenge them to pull themselves together. Mr. Ntunzwenayo and Mrs. Nkurunziza, on the same occasion, urged the women of Gahombo to join massively in the cooperatives for their self-development.
In his speech, the Burundian ombudsman, Mr. Edouard Nduwimana, also returned to the development achieved by today’s women and encouraged them to continue in the same vein. On the same occasion, Mr. Nduwimana invited women to become enthusiastic about development work, including massive support for bankable projects in order to benefit from low-interest loans from the bank. investment and women’s development.
