KAYANZA March 29th (ABP) – Taking advantage of his parliamentary recess, the Speaker of the National Assembly, Mr. Daniel Gélase Ndabirabe joined the people of his native town of Matongo in Kayanza province on Saturday March 26, 2022 (north), in the earthworks of the land where the provincial university called “Higher Polytechnic Institute of Kayanza will be erected.

Given that there was very recently information in connection with the provincial plan to purchase an aircraft which snowballed on social networks, clarifications were made during that work, a check on the site by ABP has revealed.

In his welcoming speech, the governor of Kayanza, Mr. Rémy Cishahayo recalled that the decision to build that university was taken by the natives of that province, during a meeting held for them on October 3. 2020.

He said he was satisfied with the launch of the activities of this institute, specifying that the inhabitants of Kayanza have already collected more than 30,000,000 BIF for the rental of a machine for the earthworks.

In view of the success of the project, Governor Cishahayo called on the inhabitants of that province to bring a stone to the building. He suggested that each of the 262 villages in the province will have to participate in the construction work of the said university.

At the same time, Mr. Cishahayo returned to the recent information in connection with the purchase of a plane called “Kayanza Airlines” which has circulated too much on social media. “It’s not a rumor or a lie, the project will have to be executed,” he added, adding that the provincial authorities spend sleepless nights so that the inhabitant of Kayanza can develop. “It’s also not a dream as some say, the project is already there and experts in the field are analyzing the feasibility,” he continued. He asked the Speaker of the National Assembly to consult those in charge of the airport, so that they carry out the redevelopment of the airfields located inside the country.

Speaking in his turn, the Speaker of the National Assembly, indicated that the Higher Polytechnic Institute of Kayanza will be endowed with technical faculties and institutes such as hotels, metallurgy, agro-food, and many others.

To do that, he urged students and educators for capacity building, to prepare in time for them to join that university.

Returning to the laudable project of purchasing an airplane, Mr. Ndabirabe said that it took him time to understand this project. He encouraged the provincial authorities for initiating that project, while promising to support them until the project is realized.
