All infrastructures that do not meet hygiene and sanitation standards will soon be closed

RUYIGI, April 9th (ABP) – Owners of bistros, restaurants, stores and boutiques, hotels and other public infrastructures are called upon to immediately clean up the places and surroundings in which they work, failing which their infrastructures will be closed from the beginning of next week.

That warning was issued by the governor of Ruyigi province, Mrs. Emerencienne Tabu, in collaboration with the director of the health province of Ruyigi, Doctor Prosper Bigendako, with the aim of having clean cities and urban centers.

Those two authorities have warned owners that there will be no more tolerance towards those who are guilty of neglecting that measure, and underestimated that decision on numerous occasions.

According to the governor of that province, there is a relaxation in terms of hygiene and sanitation on the part of certain owners of restaurants, bars, hotels and other public infrastructures and in public places.

The director of the health province of Ruyigi, Dr Prosper Bigendako, for his part specified that all health promotion technicians will meet to take directives and orientations to begin the campaign of sanctions of all those who do not respect the hygiene measures.

On the side of civil society Matata Baudoiun who is one of the representatives of the Muslim faith welcomed that measure and indicated that their faithful are ready to lend a hand in the hygiene of the buildings housing the offices of the province and municipality.

As a whole, the population of Ruyigi was called upon to adopt the hygiene and sanitation of their respective environments to have good health in order to achieve the development they desire.
