Approval of 35 names of new members of the Court of Auditors

BUJUMBURA April 29th (ABP) – The Speaker of the National Assembly Mr. Daniel Gélase Ndabirabe chaired Thursday, April 27, 2023, a plenary session to approve 35 names of new members of the Court of Auditors.

In his speech, Mr. Ndabirabe first said that the office received a list of 35 names of new members of the Court of Auditors, adding that they were chosen from all the provinces of the country taking into account their skills in relation to the work of the Court of Auditors.

Note that in accordance with law number 1/35 of December 4, 2008, among the missions allocated to the Court of Auditors is information and assistance to parliament. It is also a question of giving an opinion on the bills of review and budget reporting including an assessment of the conformity of the budget executed with the voted budget. The Court of Auditors also assesses overall budgetary management and results as well as the budget execution reports. The Court of Auditors also has the duty to send its opinion to Parliament on any finance bill within 15 days of their adoption by the Council of Ministers.

The approval of the names of the new members of the Court of Auditors was made by 91 deputies out of the 117 deputies who were present.
