People of Rutana are urged to work hard to increase agricultural production

RUTANA February 21st (ABP) – The Prime Minister of Burundi, Mr. Gervais Ndirakobuca, joined on Saturday February 18, 2023, the people of the Muzye zone of Giharo commune in Rutana province, in community development work consisting in maintenance of National Road No.11, on Shembe Hill, a check on the site by ABP has revealed.

In his speech, Mr. Ndirakobuca reminded participants in the work that the development of the country will depend on the efforts of Burundians through development work. He therefore called on the people of Rutana province not to wait for State initiatives, but to work hard for the development of their province.

The Prime Minister of Burundi invited them to fight against useless gatherings commonly called “ligalas”, and to enhance the Burundian soil, by practicing agriculture, with the objective of working hard to be able to produce a lot and export the surplus of agricultural production, which will provide foreign currency to “our country”.

On the security front, Mr. Ndirakobuca praised the efforts of the people of Rutana province in maintaining peace and security. He urged them to continue to be the eye of the police with the aim of keeping peace and tightening security in the province.

Despite climate change which has caused the delay in maize harvests, Prime Minister Ndirakobuca invited the people of Rutana to sow beans for this season in maize fields awaiting harvest to avoid the delay in sowing.
