MURAMVYA February 20th (ABP) – Organized respectively at the level of the Gatabo zone in Kiganda commune and at the headquarters of Muramvya commune and province (center-west), that awareness-raising on the missions of the independent national commission for human rights (CNIDH), was chaired by Commissioner Gilbert Bécaud Njangwa, who reviewed the three main missions, namely the protection and defense of human rights, the promotion of human rights and the advisory role because, according to him, they advise in all the institutions of the Republic on human rights. He indicated that the CNIDH intervenes in the irregularities that occur in the execution of justice and even in favor of those who have not been listened to or released when they are entitled to. Mr. Njangwa nevertheless said that there is what is accepted by the law governing the CNIDH and what is not. These include lawsuits that are before the courts under section 44 of the law that governs the commission and petitions based solely on rumors.

Prizes consisting of soaps, hoes, loincloths, radio sets and others were awarded to people who answered the questions asked by the team of the independent national commission for human rights. He also pointed out that the people were thirsty for that caravan which informed them a lot. Note that vulnerable plaintiffs have asked that the CNIDH be able to provide them with assistance lawyers who will be able to provide their support free of charge.
