KIRUNDO June 7th (ABP) – As part of consolidating good governance, the communal council of Kirundo in Kirundo province (north of Burundi) organized on Saturday June 4, 2022 the community dialogue for the people of the area. Gikuyo in the same town of Kirundo, a check on the site by ABP has revealed.
The president of the same municipal council of Kirundo Mr. Saidi Karemangingo indicated that this activity was organized with a view to discussing with the population the challenges that haunt their area and if possible, find solutions. In that dialogue, we mentioned the Karamagi village which does not have schools and health centers, which means that the people and the children travel long distances to reach the health structures and the school.
In addition, the bridges connecting the different villages have been damaged, causing flooding during the rainy season and blocking traffic. The people of the Gikuyo area also mentioned the resurgence of banditry in households and in the fields. She was urged to consolidate the quadrilogy in order to discourage evildoers and establish peace throughout the area. In addition, other speakers indicated that access to health care is very difficult for some. The president of the municipal council asked them to join health mutuals to be able to benefit from care easily.
That kind of dialogue is planned in other areas to collect the grievances of the people and the challenges that haunt the municipality. The community dialogue took place right after the community development works of maintaining the football pitch in the same area.
