BUJUMBURA May 6th (ABP) – The Intamba mu Rugamba, women’s under-17 team, has been eliminated for the pursuit of qualifications for the women’s world cup to be held in India in October 2022. During the second leg they played in Zanzibar, they should defeat the Tanzanian selection on the score of 5-0 to ensure their qualification.

Things are like that after losing 0-4 in the first leg at home at Urukundo Stadium in Ngozi on April 16. This cup will take place from October 11 to 30, 16 teams are in the running.

Africa will be represented by 3 countries in the same way as Europe, Asia, South America and Central America. Seven countries have already had their ticket. These are 3 countries from Europe (France, England and Germany), 3 from Asia (India as a host country, Japan and South Korea) and New Zealand which represents Oceania.

Still in women’s football, the senior women’s national team which qualified for the Africa Cup of Nations, knows the countries and the group in which it appears. This is Group C made up of Burundi, South Africa, Botswana and Nigeria. The national selection is not facilitated by appearing alongside Nigeria and South Africa: Nigeria was champion during the previous edition in 2018 to the detriment of South Africa. Nigeria holds 11 trophies of this competition out of the previous 13 editions, since the start of the competition.

Twelve teams divided into 3 groups (A, B and C) are in the running during this women’s Africa Cup of Nations to take place in July in Morocco. Group A is made up of Morocco, Burkina-Faso, Senegal, Uganda. Group B is made up of Cameroon, Zambia, Togo and Tunisia.
