The EU to Burundi celebrates Europe Day

BUJUMBURA May 5th (ABP) – The EU Ambassador to Burundi, Mr. Claude Bochu, hosted a press conference on Thursday, May 4, 2022 on Europe Week and political dialogue. “The EU celebrates Europe Day in a particular context of war with Russia’s invasion of Ukraine which is an attack on EU values ​​such as freedom, democracy and human rights”, Ambassador Bochu deplored.

That EU person in authority took the opportunity to announce the activities planned by the EU Delegation for Europe Week, from 4 to 19 May 2022 and in June 2022. These activities are, among others, the football match scheduled for May 7 between the EU and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation, the European film festival scheduled for May 10 to 14 at the French Institute of Burundi (IFB), the award ceremony for the media competition on GBV scheduled for May 10, 2022 in the presence of the Minister of Communication, Information Technology and the Media.

In addition to those activities planned for Europe Week, there is the Cooperation Day which gives an overview of many cooperation programs demonstrating the commitment of the Europe team in Burundi, scheduled for June 10, 2022 as well as the 4th session of the EU-Burundi political dialogue scheduled for 19 May 2022.
