MWARO April 19th (ABP) – The presidential couple, in the company of the former bishop of the Archdiocese of Gitega, Mgr. Simon Ntamwana, joined, on Sunday April 17, 2022, the faithful of the Kibumbu parish, in the Kayokwe commune, to celebrate Easter Sunday.

Bishop Ntamwana first blessed that parish, which dates back to 1934.

In his homily, Mgr. Ntamwana wished that the love that Jesus showed until he sacrificed himself would be light for all Christians. The celebration of Easter should bring Christians to the change of behavior to deserve to be called children of God, he insisted. Charity is one of the characteristics of a good Christian, he noted, pointing out that Jesus who came to save the world wants Christians to walk in this love.

The President of the Republic, Mr. Evariste Ndayishimiye, indicated in his speech that Easter is a moment of meditation which should transform Christians. He insisted on the safeguard of peace and justice and on the fight against corruption. He invited the priest of that parish to sensitize his faithful on the promotion of self-development work.

It is worthy to note that the roof of the Kibumbu parish was destroyed by the strong wind on February 18, 2021, then rebuilt for a period of 40 days, with the help of President Ndayishimiye worth 18,602,700 BIF.
