KAYANZA February 9th (ABP) – The governor of Kayanza province (north) organized on Monday, February 7, 2022 an exchange session with the population of Gahombo commune. The activity took place at Gakuro hill of Gahombo area. He was in the company of some heads of provincial services to help him provide clarifications depending on the question asked and the service concerned, a check on the site by ABP has revealed.

In his welcoming address, the administrator of Gahombo commune, Mr. Sylvestre Ntunzwenayo, said that peace and security are in good shape in his administrative entity but that there are many disruptive elements. He cited in particular the theft of cattle and cases of rape and specified that the perpetrators are still apprehended and brought to justice. Administrator Ntunzwenayo did not fail to point out that the followers of the sect of Euzebie continue to make gatherings in Businde, which damage crop fields.

He asked the Governor of Kayanza to plead for there to be a police position in Businde.

To that concern, the governor of Kayanza indicated, in his introductory speech, that the provincial committee in charge of security has already counted on this problem and that it is in the process of analyzing how to place a military position there.

Although peace and security are a reality in Gahombo, Governor Cishahayo called on the joint security committees and the quadrilogy to remain at work to establish peace and security.

He invited the people of Gahombo to plant all the trees in the nurseries before the end of this month of February to prevent those that can be planted after these deadlines from drying out during the summer.

He recalled that any household that does not have an adequate toilet must pay a fine for rebelling against the measure of the provincial administration.

Most of the concerns that the population of Gahombo addressed to the Governor of Kayanza concerned the area of justice as well as family and land disputes. A question was also raised concerning the supply of drinking water from Muhanga commune to supply the Nzewe zone.

The latter was officially opened when the water was not flowing in the taps. The inhabitants of that Nzewe zone have indicated that the same drinking water supply is not functional and that even the pipes which should bring water to this administrative entity have been dug up by the market winners. To do this, they asked the provincial administration to look into it. Reacting to that concern, the governor of Kayanza considered the winners of that market as real thieves and that they must be apprehended to be brought to justice and hand over all the funds allocated to that project.

Another concern of the population of Gahombo concerns the impassability of the road linking the communes Muhanga-Gahombo-Gatara and Kayanza which has become almost impassable. Here, the same administrative authority in Kayanza recommended to the administrators of communes to count on this problem so that that road is rehabilitated as soon as possible and that, by conforming to the communal plans of community development (PCDC).

As for the inhabitants of the Batwa community who deplored the fact that their children were expelled from school for not having worn uniforms, Governor Cishahayo told them that school principals should no longer send them away because of the lack of school uniforms but that children from this community are called upon to dress decently.

During that same interactive dialogue between the governor of Kayanza and the population of Gahombo, some breeders benefiting from the PRODEFI and PAIVA-B projects castigated the attitude of some community animal health agents (ACSA) who plunge them into corruption every time that they confide in them to sell or replace the cattle granted to them when they meet all the standards required so as not to interrupt the chains of animal solidarity.

Here, the governor of Kayanza made a point of pointing out that the only condition to be demanded is that the barn should not be left without domestic animals.
