Young people are called for job creation

BURURI December 15th (ABP) – The program for economic empowerment and youth employment (PAEEJ), brought together at the headquarters of Bururi province on Thursday, young entrepreneurs, heads of cooperatives and communal administrators, to sensitize them on the activities of the program.

The national coordinator of the said program, Mr. Désiré Manirakiza, indicated that the mission of the PAEEJ is the reduction of unemployment, the fight against youth poverty, the promotion of their employment, while promoting their professional integration in order to stimulate the economic growth of the country. He encouraged young people to team up in associations and / or cooperatives to benefit from the financial support of the program. Mr. Manirakiza also specified that each village in the country will benefit from funding of between five to ten million BIF, but repayable. He pointed out that the government has set up several mechanisms for monitoring micro-projects in the field, including the digital monitoring system.

The national coordinator of PAEEJ said that the sectors that will be financed are agriculture and livestock, through training in the drawing up of business plans and project management, entrepreneurship, by organizing a competition for the best business projects and finally the employability of young people, by the integration of young people through the mechanism of the first job internship.

He finally underlined that the number of young graduates awaiting employment is more than three times that of all civil servants, reason why a young person in school should study not to be a job seeker, but rather to be a job creator.
