CIBITOKE, May 17th (ABP) – On Monday May 13, 2024, the President of the Republic, Evariste Ndayishimiye, led a moral discussion in the provincial headquarters, Cibitoke, for police officers from the Western region.

The Head of State chaired the meeting in the company of the Minister of the Interior, Community Development and Public Security, Martin Niteretse, the Inspector General of Police, and the Commissioner of the Western Region.

In his introductory speech, the Head of State congratulated the police in general and the OPJs in particular, for the peace and security prevailing in the four provincial police stations. He pointed out that this was not because there were no criminals, but rather because those who tried to disrupt security had no chance of escaping the vigilance of the police and OPJs, who regularly investigate cases. The President of the Republic insisted that the work of the OPJs and their active presence are noticeable throughout the country.

President Ndayishimiye added that the aim of the May 13 meeting was to assess the security situation at each police station, with a view to agreeing on strategies to preserve it.
