The Police are called on to work for the well-being of the people

BUBANZA March 21st  (ABP) – The President of the Republic of Burundi, General Major Evariste Ndayishimiye, was Friday March 15 in Bubanza province (north-west of Burundi) where he enhanced with his presence the definitive incorporation ceremonies of the candidate officers of the 8th promotion, graduation and swearing-in of officers of the 4th promotion, as well as the opening of the 2023-2024 academic year at the Higher Police Institute (ISP) located in the zone Mitakataka of the Bubanza commune, a check on the site by ABP has revealed.

For that 4th promotion, 99 officers, including nine girls and five chaplains, graduated and took the oath before the President of the Republic, while 65 officer candidates from the 8th promotion, including seven girls and four chaplains, were concerned by the definitive incorporation.

According to the director of that ISP, Lt-Col Pol Richard Ndayizigamiye, that Institute currently has 320 students, including 61 girls and four chaplains.

Some of them study at the Faculty of Law and that of Economic and Administrative Sciences on site, others study in other universities such as the University of Burundi in Medicine, Engineering Sciences, Statistics, ICT, Psychology, IEPS, with eight others continuing their studies in Russia. Lt-Col Pol Ndayizigamiye requests the support of high authorities in the extension of the premises of that Institute, the rehabilitation of the former ENAPO, the establishment of a virtual library, the increase in drinking water and the construction of sports grounds.

On that subject, the Minister responsible for Security, Mr. Martin Niteretse, indicated that the ministry is already working on those needs of the ISP.

In his speech, the President of the Republic of Burundi invited the police to work for the well-being of the inhabitants of their areas of action, by guaranteeing them security, avoiding corruption, and collaborating with the population and others. With that guaranteed security, continued President Ndayishimiye, residents will have the facility to implement their self-development projects and increased production towards the achievement of the vision of Burundi emerging in 2040 and developed in 2060.

The President of the Republic also calls on them to respect and enforce the law, to always think about the principle of necessity, neutrality, consideration of everyone in their situation and dignity, a check on the site by ABP has revealed.

The ministry responsible for security granted a gift of two cows to the head of state, it is reported. Note that that Higher Police Institute has already trained 1,537 Baccalaureate graduates, including 90 girls and 16 chaplains.
