BUJUMBURA March 21st (ABP) – The members of the fired brick manufacturing cooperative called “Terimbere” are satisfied with the fruit of their efforts, they declared to the ABP which met them at the 13th Transversal of Maramvya in commune Mutimbuzi.

Their workforce amounts to 53 people. Their project began with a capital of 1 million 60 thousand BIF, at a rate of 20,000 BIF per person.

According to the president of the cooperative, Mr. Jean Pierre Sindimwo, the “Terimbere” members had set themselves the objective of helping each other, finding means of subsistence and contributing to the development of the country by paying taxes. Since its inception in 2018, they have worked hard and made progress. After the bricks are baked and sold, members are paid pro rata, according to the number of days each member has worked, according to Mr. Sindimwo, adding that after each sale, they set a contribution for savings at the Savings and Credit Cooperative which depends on the amount obtained. Parents no longer have to worry about having money to buy notebooks and other school materials. They bought domestic animals thanks to the “Terimbere” cooperative, added the president of the said cooperative. Regarding the production produced, Mr. Sindimwo indicated that it depends on the periods. “During the rainy season, we record losses because once fired, bricks that are not dry do not produce good products, while the dry season remains the good season for manufacturers of fired bricks,” he said.
