RUTANA February 27th (ABP) – Two thousand fruit tree and eucalyptus seedlings will be planted by the police of the province of Rutana in the Rongero area, municipality and province of Rutana, with the aim of implementing the project of government of Burundi “Ewe Burundi urambaye”, indicated the provincial police commissioner, Mr. Bondo Charles, Friday February 23, 2024.

An uninhabited part of the Rongero zone, located on national road number eight, constitutes land where the police of the province of Rutana are planting those plants for the reforestation of the bushes.

Fruit tree seedlings including avocado, orange, mandarin, papaya and other bush trees such as eucalyptus are being planted on an area of approximately fourteen hectares, he revealed.

In addition to those activities, rabbit farming and cattle breeding which will be practiced there are also among the priorities of the police in the province of Rutana, said Mr. Bondo, before adding that an ecological toilet which will be there will be built will produce manure which will help in fertilizing the trees.

He said that tree nurseries will soon be prepared so that the surrounding population can have some to plant at home.
