BUJUMBURA, February 23rd (ABP) – As part of the partnership between the Al-Maktoum Foundation and the Bonne Action Umugiraneza Foundation, the legal representative of the Al-Maktoum Foundation in Burundi, Mr. Hashim Mohamed Ibrahim, handed over on Thursday February 22 2024, 39 sewing machines, accessories and rolls of fabric at the Bonne Action Umugiraneza foundation chaired by the First Lady of the Republic of Burundi, Mrs. Angeline Ndayishimiye.

Mr. Ibrahim said that this sewing equipment is provided to support the projects of the Bonne Action Umugiraneza foundation. The beneficiaries will be widowed women and girls who did not have the chance to go to school, who will have completed capacity building sessions in sewing trade.

It was specified that those sessions will be provided by the foundation Al-Maktoum. It was estimated that the sewing profession will allow those women and girls to fight against poverty, explaining that they will have the financial means to resolve certain social problems and meet their basic needs.
