Funerals of the mother of the late President Pierre Nkurunziza

NGOZI, February 15th (ABP) – The funeral ceremonies of Mrs. Domitille Bucumi, mother of the late President Pierre Nkurunziza, who died some days ago at the autonomous regional hospital of Ngozi, took place on Monday February 13, a check on the site by ABP has revealed.

The ceremonies were attended by the Head of State and his better half, as well as several high-ranking personalities of the country. They began with the last tributes paid at the Ngozi regional hospital and continued in Buye village.

The funeral ceremonies were marked by the laying of wreaths, respectively by the family of the deceased represented by Senator Joséphine Nyiraneza, the sister of the late President Pierre Nkurunziza; the family of the President of the Republic; the Speaker of the National Assembly and the President of the Senate; as well as the Secretary General of the ruling party and other personalities.

The ceremonies were also marked by testimonies given by Senator Joséphine Nyiraneza, Mrs. Denise Bucumi Nkurunziza and the grandchildren of the deceased. Everyone came together to bear witness to the humility and generosity of the deceased.

Mrs. Denise Bucumi Nkurunziza returned to the good neighborly behavior, the unifying spirit, the love of neighbor and a job well done which characterized Mrs. Minani during her lifetime.

Mrs. Domitille Minani, who died at the age of 85, was a woman who loved to pray, assisted others and was very interested in the political life of her country.

The ceremonies ended with the practice known as Gukaraba (hand washing).
