KAYANZA, February 8th (ABP) – The administrator of Butaganzwa commune of Kayanza province (northern Burundi) brought together the natives of that commune on Saturday, February 3, 2024. The aim was to present to them the projects implemented during the year 2023 and the future prospects.

During that meeting held in the communal hall, the communal administrator of Butaganzwa, Mrs. Janvière Kanyana, was delighted that the planned activities had been carried out at a very satisfactory rate.

For that administrative authority, the achievement of those objectives results from the good collaboration that exists amongst the communal administration, the people, the natives and the development partners of that district.

In relation to future prospects, the promotion of the tourism sector drew the attention of the meeting participants, especially since a two-storey communal hotel is already in progress. It is with this in mind that administrator Kanyana urged the natives of Butaganzwa, wherever they are, as well as the inhabitants and natives of Gatara and Matongo communes who will be together with that commune of Butaganzwa in the new commune of Matongo, to make their contribution so that the construction work on that infrastructure of public interest is completed by the end of this year. She took the opportunity to call on the natives of the locality to return to their native villages to develop there, especially by setting up various projects and building beautiful houses.

Given that the Butaganzwa commune won second place at the provincial level in the national competition for class 9 of basic school and third in the State examination, Father Désiré Yamuremye proposed to attach more importance to the field of education, especially by ensuring that there is a significant reduction in early pregnancies in schools and by bringing the perpetrators to justice.

At the end of the meeting, they exchanged New Year’s best wishes.
