MAKAMBA December 18th (ABP) – The final match of the 7th edition of Tanganyika Cup was won by the Rumonge provincial team on Thursday December 14, 2023, with a score of 2 goals to 1 for the Ruyigi team, a check on the site by ABP has disclosed.
At the end of the match, the team from Rumonge province received a cup and each team that participated in the Tanganyika Cup championship received 20 balls from the Pax Burundi Foundation.
The players who stood out during that match also received a small incentive envelope of 100 US dollars. They are Kevin Bernard John from the Kasulu district team named as best goalkeeper, the best scorer Mechack Arakaza from Ruyigi and the best player Fessal Nzeyimana from Rumonge.
The president of the Pax Burundi Foundation, Mr. Révérien Ndikuriyo, was among the spectators of that match as well as other authorities from cross-border provinces and the representative of the ambassador of the United Republic of Tanzania in Burundi.
Note that the final match of the 7th edition of Tanganyika Cup was played at the Nkurunziza Peace Park Complex Stadium in Gisenyi located in Makamba commune and province. The consolation match was won by the Kasulu district team with a score of 3 goals to 1 from Muyinga.
