KIRUNDO, November 8th (ABP) – The President of the Republic of Burundi, Evariste Ndayishimiye, received in audience on Monday, November 6, 2023, at the Presidential Gîte in Kirundo (northern Burundi), a delegation led by a delegate of the government of the United Arab Emirates, Mr. Mohamed Bin Butti. He was accompanied by investors from the private sector, a check on the site by ABP has revealed.
The spokesperson for the President of the Republic, Mrs. Rosine Guilène Gatoni, indicated, in an interview with the press, that those investors had come to present to the President of the Republic, their expression of interest in investing in Burundi in order to support the country in its development process.
The Head of State commended their visit especially as they come at the right time when Burundi is on the path towards Burundi emerging in 2040 and developed in 2060.
She added that those investors appreciated the peaceful environment that reigns in Burundi, which is a condition for any investor in any country, they insisted.
During their discussions, she reported, those investors mentioned certain priority projects linked to the sectors in which they work. These are the agriculture, mining and infrastructure sectors.
They finally agreed that a joint group be set up, bringing together experts from the United Arab Emirates and the Burundians, to set up projects and put in place a memorandum of understanding which could be submitted to the two Governments in order to consolidate cooperation for the development of Burundi.
