BUJUMBURA, October 9th (ABP) –Burundi First Lady Angeline Ndayishimiye offered, on the eve of the High-Level Forum of Women Leaders which is be held from October 9 to 11, 2023 in Bujumbura, a gala dinner to the different first ladies and delegations from different nations that will participate in that forum.
In a speech delivered on that occasion, the First Lady of Burundi made it known that women are a transformative force to be harnessed to sweep away the obstacles that hinder the development of entire societies in general, and particularly that of women and children. “Our faith in success and our collective actions will be expressed, once again, during the three days of the forum,” she noted. She indicated that this relaxed setting is offered to share ideas and revive feminine energy and go beyond previous achievements.
It is worth noting that this forum is being held under the central theme: “Contribution of family planning to achieving good nutritional status and the demographic dividend”. First ladies from certain African countries, friends of Burundi, regional representatives of organizations of the United Nations system and other regional institutions have to attend it. The forum will also welcome representatives of the diplomatic and consular corps accredited to Burundi, parliamentarians, senior State executives and many other distinguished guests.
