GITEGA, October 3rd (ABP) – Burundi Head of State Evariste Ndayishimiye, along with his better half and children, joined, on October 1, 2023, the Christians of the Evangelical Church of Friends ( EEA) of Kibimba in Ndava commune of Mwaro province (center of the country), in a Sunday prayer.

In his communication to the audience, President Ndayishimiye recommended that Burundians remember and be grateful to the Almighty for the comfortable security situation in which they currently live. Remember, he said, God brought you out of the situation of war and its consequences. To that end, he recommended that they constantly praise God for His goodness and implore Him to continue to fill Burundi with His blessings. However, the Head of State recalled that God bows down His ear to one’s prayer on one condition, namely obedience to his commandments, he clarified.

Shortly before, the preacher of the day, Pastor Eraste Ndikumana mentioned similar teachings. He called on everyone to renounce evil so as not to incur the wrath of God. He has made it known that there are sins which anger Him and for which He must inflict punishment. Pastor Ndikumana cited, among others, adultery, injustice towards widows and orphans as well as corruption. He recommended to the audience to repent of their sins to reconnect with God, reassuring them that He will forgive them, because He is Love, he concluded.

Another communication was that of the representative of the EEA in Burundi, Reverend Pastor Louis Nizigiyimana. He spoke about the missions of the church. He mentioned in particular the propagation of the gospel, the contribution in the education and health sectors as well as in humanitarian work.

In recognition of the works of President Ndayishimiye in the development of the EEA, Rev. Pastor Nizigiyimana gave him a heifer named Yabwami. Note that the children’s choir of the presidential couple was among the facilitators of that Sunday prayer.
