MAKAMBA August 16th (ABP) – The people of Makamba commune and province proceeded on Saturday August 12, 23 to the drawing of contour lines on Gisenyi hill to protect arable land against erosion.
The administrator of the said commune, Mrs. Zuena Irakiza, asked the people to continue to draw contour lines in their properties to keep the fertility of their soil.
She also invited them to grow agroforestry trees in their properties without forgetting to plant the fixing grasses on the contour lines drawn.
She warned people who have a bad habit of burning forests.
