NGOZI August 10th (ABP) – The Minister of National Solidarity, Social Affairs, Human Rights and Gender, Mrs. Imelde Sabushimike, offered, on Tuesday August 8, assistance to the orphanage ‘Umunyasamariya w ‘imbabazi’, the Good Samaritan, of Buye in Mwumba commune.
Consisting of food and non-food items, that donation was given as part of the celebration of National Solidarity Day, usually celebrated on August 4.
In her address, Minister Sabushimike, thanked the leader of the Buntu Foundation, Mrs. Denise Bucumi Nkurunziza, for the charitable work she is doing for those orphans. She indicated that those children, despite being in an orphanage, remain children of the country, who must be considered in their dignity, like the others. She pleaded for other benefactors to provide assistance to that orphanage.
Mrs. Bucumi Nkurunziza took the opportunity to express her gratitude to the ministry which spares no effort to support those orphans. She asked well-wishers to take care of a few at home.
The activity coincided with other food assistance provided by CNDD-FDD women activists in Mwumba commune. That orphanage houses more than 60 children of various ages, including infants. It was initiated by the Buntu Foundation chaired by Mrs. Denise Bucumi Nkurunziza.
