According to the spokesperson for the Head of State, Diomède Nzeyimana, the observation made after this meeting is that the country is peaceful in all corners. However, according to Mr. Nzeyimana, during that meeting, it was noted that there are “events which occur in Burundi, behaviors which one observes, which show that the population is not satisfied, like it is within the objectives of the responsible and laborious government”.

Citing the example of recent events which have led to some changes within the government, the spokesperson for the Head of State indicated that “there are people who want to enrich themselves illegally and who appropriate properties, and others who have accumulated money to an extreme level and keep these colossal sums in their pockets when that money should be in development works such as the construction of infrastructure or social housing. That is a problem because it causes discontent among the population. He also pointed out that there are strike-like behaviors in the fuel sector, a few weeks ago that problem was solved, but he observed some traders who decided not to sell the fuel anymore. fuel. Faced with that outrageous behavior, he stressed, decisions must be made against these recalcitrants. “Their stations will be put in the hands of other people who want to sell fuel and the recalcitrant will be removed from the list of those who are authorized to trade in fuel.

On the justice side, it was noted during this meeting that there are improvements, but that there are magistrates who are not as professional as we would like.

In the case of the CNTB, which stopped its work because the mandate expired, a decision will be taken within a few days so that the files which were at the level of the CNTB are transferred to the CVR. Normally the role of the CNTB was to try to reconcile people, but it worked like justice. Mr. Nzeyimana also pointed out that it was noted during this meeting that the prices of BRARUDI products are not respected, and that the administration must do everything to ensure that these prices are respected throughout the country.

In short, the spokesperson for the President of the Republic stressed that it was a matter of an assessment meeting to see how things could be managed internally within the government so that, in the end, the objective of satisfying the people, which the government has set itself, is reached.
