Handover ceremonies to the Ministry in charge of Finance

BUJUMBURA September 12th (ABP) – The outgoing Minister of Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, Dr. Domitien Ndihokubwayo, proceeded on Saturday, September 10, 2022, within the premises of the said ministry, to the handover and recovery ceremonies with his successor, Mr. Audace Niyonzima.

Before getting to the heart of the matter, outgoing Minister Ndihokubwayo thanked the staff of the Ministry in charge of Finance for the frank collaboration that characterized him during his time. He asked her to continue in the same vein.

Dr. Ndihokubwayo congratulated the incoming minister on his appointment by the President of the Republic, Mr. Evariste Ndayishimiye. He wished him welcome and full success in his mission, before telling him that he comes at a time when there are many projects to be carried out at the Ministry of Finance, Budget and Economic Planning.

Thus, Dr. Ndihokubwayo handed over to the incoming minister various ongoing files, which require effective implementation, as well as the projects already developed which are ready to be presented to the government. These ongoing files are, among others, the strategy for the computerization of public finances, the project to switch to budgeting in program budget mode, the strategy for the computerization of the Burundian Revenue Office (OBR) and the Sovereign Network Project of the Government of Burundi.

To those files are added the strategy of computerization of all State services, the security project of the Ministry in charge of Finance, the mobilization of financing for the construction of the railway as well as the project of wage policy.

The incoming minister, Mr. Audace Niyonzima, meanwhile, indicated that he will continue the activities even if it means implementing, in an effective way, all the files presented to him by his predecessor.
