Police officers are called on to enhance the image of their country with the proper accomplishment of their mission

BUBANZA June 23rd (ABP) – The forces of order are called to value their homeland in the proper accomplishment of their mission. That appeal was launched to them on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, by the President of the Republic of Burundi, Evariste Ndayishimiye, on the occasion of the ceremonies for the final incorporation of the officer candidates of the 6th promotion of the Higher Institute of Police (ISP) and the opening of the academic year, 2021-2022 edition, a check on the site by ABP has revealed.

These officer candidates who have been definitively incorporated are 90 in number, including 77 boys, 8 girls and 5 Chaplains who have just completed the initial 3-month training. The Director of this Institute, Col de Pol Philbert Nkurunziza, said that the ISP accuses a lack of infrastructure, lack of drinking water and recycling of teachers and others. He asked for the support of the President of the Republic.

As for the Minister of the Interior, Community Development and Security, Gervais Ndirakobuca, he said that the knowledge learned in this Higher Police Institute contributes enormously in safeguarding peace and security. He announced that PSI plans to send some of its students to other universities both local and foreign to study other faculties other than law, management and administration, which it has. Regarding the lack of infrastructure, Minister Ndirakobuca said that a plot of 21 hectares is already ready for the construction of the infrastructure that the ISP needs, a check on the site by ABP has revealed.

In his speech, the President of the Republic of Burundi, Evariste Ndayishimiye, invited the police to properly fulfill their mission of respecting and enforcing the law, to love their country, to make good use of the material and equipment that are made available their disposal, to avoid and fight corruption and to work in good collaboration in the trilogy for prevention. The President of the Republic of Burundi asks them to change their mentality and to work with vision and objective as required by the program budget, and with the aim of serving as a good reference for others. He promises support for the proper functioning of this Higher Institute of Police.

President Ndayishimiye invites the population to avoid laziness and to work to increase production, which, according to him, will reduce fixed prices and make it easier for the police.

It should be noted that 1453 officers, police officers, have already completed this Institute and among them 1366 boys, 78 girls and 9 chaplains, while 312 students are in academic training. It should also be noted that the Ministry having Security in its attributions granted the President of the Republic, as a gift, two heifers.
