Women of the United Methodist Church of Cankuzo district are committed to self-development

CANKUZO June 14th (ABP) – The Senate President, Mr. Emmanuel Sinzohagera proceeded on Saturday, June 11, 2022, in Cankuzo province (eastern Burundi), to the opening of the evangelization crusade, organized by Christian women of the United Methodist Church of which he is the legal representative under the theme: “Let’s rise and build”, a check on the site by ABP has revealed.

That crusade was organized as part of raising awareness about women and revitalizing self-development activities. Indeed, during the opening of the crusade, the legal representative of the United Methodist Church in Burundi indicated that development begins with oneself, meaning that one cannot invite others to build oneself without him. serve as an example. He added that this theme coincides with the government’s motto that every mouth has food and every pocket has money.

Mr. Sinzohagera called on every woman to have a vision of development starting with her household, pointing out that she is the first to be concerned about her well-being more than the man. According to him, if the woman develops, the household also develops and spreads to the level of the country. It is in this context that he indicated that the lost time should be recovered by getting down to the development work.

Mr. Sinzohagera also challenged the women of the United Methodist Church of Burundi, to stand up for development, by grouping together in development cooperatives, and contract loans within the bank which was created for them to achieve projects.

During the closing ceremonies of this crusade, Mr. Sinzohagera indicated that difficulties sometimes arise during the realization of the projects, hence prayer, vision and even determination are necessary to reach the end.

The legal representative of the United Methodist Church in Burundi then invited the Christians of the Church to support the initiatives of the President of the Republic Evariste Ndayishimiye, aimed at the development of the country and to pray for him so that God guides him in all his works.

Accompanied by the governor of Cankuzo province, Mr. Sinzohagera inaugurated a rental house built by the women’s movement of this church in the district of Cankuzo. As a thank you for her commendable deeds in the interest of the church, these women gave the legal representative of the church a gift of food.
