Analysis and adoption of the draft calendar of activities for the ordinary parliamentary session of April 2022

BUJUMBURA June 15th (ABP) – The MPs met on Tuesday June 14, 2022 in plenary session at the Kigobe hemicycle to analyze and adopt the draft calendar of activities for the ordinary parliamentary session, for the period from 13 to 30 June 2022.

Among the activities of the ordinary parliamentary session of April 2022 planned for this period are the analysis and adoption of bills carrying the ratification by the Republic of Burundi of the assistance agreement between the United States of America and the Republic of Burundi to facilitate a partnership aimed at a transformation that promotes the sustainable development of Burundi, the ratification by the Republic of Burundi of the agreement on the mutual abolition of visa procedures for holders of diplomatic or service passports between the government of the Republic of Burundi and the government of the Russian Federation as well as the analysis and adoption of the bill on the ratification by the Republic of Burundi of the economic and technical cooperation agreement between the government of Burundi and the government of the United Arab Emirates.

Throughout this period, the members of the lower house of parliament will analyze and adopt, in particular, Senate amendments to the draft organic law revising law number 1/35 of 4 December 2008 relating to public finances, and will presentation of the comments of the Court of Auditors on the bill fixing the general budget of the Republic of Burundi for the 2022-2023 financial year.

It should be noted that the deputies will also analyze and adopt the draft law relating to the peaceful use, safety and security of nuclear energy and ionizing radiation, as well as the analysis and adoption of the draft law amending law number 1/35 of 31 December 2014 on the organic framework of religious denominations.
