BUJUMBURA March 15th (ABP) – The Speaker of the National Assembly Daniel Gélase Ndabirabe accompanied by his wife joined the Christians of the Church of the Rock located in the Buyenzi zone, Mukaza commune of the Bujumbura City Council (west of Burundi), in the Sunday celebration of March 13, 2022.

Pastor Denise Nkurunziza first welcomed this guest and all those who accompanied him. In her preaching, she based herself on the word of God found in the epistle of Paul to the Romans 8, 18-25 where it is written “I hope that our sufferings of the present time are not comparable to the glory that God will reveal to us.”

Referring to those scriptures, she pointed out to the congregation present that the good thing that God has done for Christians is the promise. For this, she invited all Christians to read the Bible so that everyone can discover what God has promised them. Pastor Nkurunziza also took the opportunity to call on Christians to keep their promises even in times of hardship.

She gave the model of the Israelites spoken of in the Bible, explaining that before arriving at the promised land, the latter passed through difficult times and persevered. She clarified that if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.

The President of the National Assembly for his part insisted on the period of Lent which, according to him, is a promise which explains that God sent his son to save the world. He advised Christians to forsake all that is sinful and begin the path of forgiveness. He also asked Christians to avoid anything that could provoke the wrath of God, while waiting for the fulfillment of the promise because, he underlined, what God has promised will accomplish it.
