CIBITOKE November 10th (ABP) – The Mugina communal administrator, Mrs. Julienne Ndayihaya, pleaded Monday, November 8 for assistance for victims of the bad weather last Saturday, at the Gisheke site, and called on their neighbors for solidarity towards those victims. The appeal of Monday, follows the torrential rain, which disheveled three houses and partially or completely destroyed more than twenty, according to the same communal official.

The owners of the damaged houses are in the meantime lodged by neighbors or have taken refuge with their relatives, pending the rehabilitation of their houses. Said site affected by that harsh climate is the one housing the displaced people from Nyempundu hill and its proximity. Those are the survivors of the landslide at the end of 2019, which left dozens of people dead, injured and missing under the collapsed mountain, it is recalled. Note that the destroyed houses are among the package of 250 houses built by the UNDP in 2020, at the location of the survivors of the deadly landslide that occurred on the night of December 4 to 5, 2019.
