The Kirundo high school has celebrated its silver jubilee

KIRUNDO October 26th (ABP) – The Kirundo high school, located in the headquarters of Kirundo province (northern Burundi), celebrated its silver jubilee on Saturday October 23, 2021, a check on the site by ABP has revealed.

According to the director of that school, Mr. Cyriaque Nkerabahizi, the Kirundo high school was created thanks to the former president of the Republic of Burundi and hero of democracy, Mr. Melchior Ndadaye, who ordered that the buildings that were used prison be turned into a school. On this occasion, he wanted that school to bear the name of Melchior Ndadaye, hero of democracy.

The Kirundo high school opened in 1996 with 125 pupils. Director Nkerabahizi warmly thanked all those who gave themselves body and soul for the smooth running of the activities of this school. He thus awarded certificates of honor to certain people who contributed in a remarkable way, including the first principal of the school.

In addition, he appealed to all charitable souls to help his school, especially in the rehabilitation of the premises, the latrines and the construction of the fence.

As for the governor of Kirundo province, Mr. Albert Hatungimana, he indicated that the Kirundo high school was set up at the appropriate time. He warmly thanked the hero of democracy and let it be known that the provincial administration has already sent correspondence to those concerned to request that the Kirundo high school bear the name of Melchior Ndadaye.

Note that the school took the opportunity to proceed with the graduation ceremony of the 37 laureates of the past school year. Note that the school now has 370 pupils.
