Police have found a woman that went missing on wedding blessing day

BUJUMBURA May 26th (ABP) – Police found last week a woman named Emelyne Ndayishimiye, wife of Bernide Odran Nininahazwe, who disappeared on the wedding blessing day scheduled for February 5, 2021, as was reported in a press release from the Ministry of the Interior, Community Development and Public Security issued on Monday May 24, 2021.

According to the spokesperson of the ministry, Mr. Pierre Nkurikiye, he indicated that after the disappearance of that woman, the police began the investigation which aims to find her. Three months later, that woman presented herself to the police.

Mr. Nkurikiye added that the results from the investigation show that this woman was locked in a house of the association of women lawyers in the Bujumbura city council where she was treated in a bizarre manner.

In that place, that woman was not allowed to go out or communicate with her husband or even her family, he said.

After finding the woman, he specified that the police continued the investigations, where the police questioned the people living near that association. “This association has a habit of shutting people down for a long time and this is not the first time,” they reported.

The police arrested the representative of that association for investigation.

To that end, the spokesperson for the ministry stressed that the goal of the press release was to present to the public that woman who was found alive. She advised young people who commit to getting married to make the serious decision to avoid unnecessary problems as marriage is the commitment of two people that forms the core of society.
