BUBANZA, May 21st (ABP) – The Minor Seminary of Ciya in the commune and province of Bubanza (north-west of Burundi) benefited on Sunday May 19, the day of Pentecost, from a donation of the generator from the elders’ students of that school, a check on the site by ABP has revealed.

The Minor Seminary of Ciya has existed since 1990, and is in its 34th promotion. Its former students, all promotions combined, have grouped together in an association called Solidarity of former seminarians of Ciya (SOLASEC). They let it be known that they thought of the generator in order to facilitate the continuation of school activities in the event of a power outage.

As for the rector of that Minor Seminary, Father Marcel Modeste Niganze, he was delighted with that donation because, he said, the school can spend two days during the week without electricity, especially in the rainy season. That, he continued, hampers the proper functioning of the school, especially during exam periods when learners are often victims.

Note that those former students of the Minor Seminary of Ciya joined the students and authorities of that school in the celebration of Pentecost, and the festivities were closed by sharing a drink.
